Keeping your pet's mouth healthy is the single most important wellness procedure to helping the animal enjoy a long and healthy life. We therefore spend time at every wellness visit to talking about your pet’s dental hygiene.

We offer dental cleaning, polishing and extractions. To make every dental treatment safe and effective, we offer all the following:

> Pre-anesthetic blood work is advised and we strongly recommend a complete physical examination of each pet.
> Premed sedation is given which makes the procedure safer and less stressful.
> IV fluids are introduced and induction anesthesia is given by IV.
> Every animal is intubated and put on Isoflurane gas anesthesia.
> An anesthetic monitor records heart and respiratory rates, temperature, and blood pressure.
> We have a state of the art veterinary dental unit with an advanced dental scaler.
> Technicians check around every tooth for pockets or lesions, measuring and charting these abnormalities as they clean.
> As with our surgical patients, dental patients receive pre- and post-procedure pain medication and antibiotics if necessary.
> We carry many products to keep your pet's mouth healthy including toothpaste and brushes, chew toys and treats, and special foods and supplements.

We do everything we can to save teeth rather than extract. However, any tooth which has the root more than half exposed must be removed. Teeth that are loose and painful must also be removed.

Following any dental procedure, your pet’s recovery is monitored by a hospital team member. The animal is not returned to its kennel space until it can sit up and walk.
